Greetings, and welcome to our site. Ascentium is a text based, post-by-post roleplay that allows the player to immerse themselves into a rich fantasy environment that is filled with both wonders and delights. Ascentium is a dark fantasy world, meaning it is a combination of both fantasy and horror. Unlike other roleplay games that spoon feed you visuals of how your character should appear or how the world is, text based roleplay allows one's imagination to roam free without binding it to a certain level of detail or physics.
Here, you may craft individual characters aligned alongside our guidelines to propel you to a new unique level of storytelling. Our goal is to provide an in-depth world and storyline to compel intermediate to advanced writers to exchange tales with one another, to write their own compelling stories and enjoy a breath of fresh air away from the strenuous lives we live in modern society.
We welcome all roleplayers to our site, no matter your age, gender, sexuality, religion or writing skill. Whether you have came from an MMO or from another forum, or even if you are trying this for the very first time, Ascentium will offer you all you will need to unleash your creativity with like-minded individuals. As the founder of this site, I welcome and thank you for coming here. May your adventures and stories be prosperous.
Below is a general list of rules that must be agreed upon and obeyed:
- Keep OOC and IC separate and in the appropriate categories. OOC stands for Out of Character. This implies toward actions deemed inappropriate for your character, such as using smileys, mentioning how much you loved the latest Harry Potter movie or emoting your character just broke his iphone. IC is an abbreviation for In Character. This refers to actions and words depicting you are playing your character. Think of roleplaying as acting a part in a play. You must act your role without deviating to actions not fit for the script.
- No bullying or harassing OOC. IC Bullying is allowed, but anything that will attack the person behind the character personally is a serious no-no.
- Staff members reserve the right to remove your posts and threads should they be deemed offensive, inappropriate or misplaced.
- This forum is currently rated PG to comply with the proboards rules. This means, that in roleplay you will encounter violence, swearing and horror themes. We do not support strong nudity, sex,. Sex between characters is allowed if the details are kept somewhat minimal, but for heavy sex, please refer to private messaging.
- Do NOT under any circumstance post pictures or links of pornographic, violent, viruses or other offensive material. This includes drug abuse, animal cruelty, shock sites or any other kind of nonsense that shouldn't be waved around in public. If you must show it to a friend, do so privately.
- No spamming and no advertising outside of the Advertising Board.
- When making your account, you will need to have an appropriate avatar and name for your profile. There are no face claims on this forum. You may choose an actor, character or draw your own as you see fit, but there must be no reference to the real world such as seeing pictures of cars in your avatar.
- Regarding your character's name, refer to the race and create one given the guidelines. There must be no profiles with the name 'Bigb0y2133' or 'twilightsfanlol'. If you cannot think of a name, use a name generator.
- There can be only one character per account. However, you may make as many accounts as you desire.
- Do not try to argue with, impersonate or bash staff members. We are here to make your roleplay enjoyable. If you find yourself in trouble, you must look back upon your own actions and realise you did something wrong. However, if any staff member you feel is violating your rights, feel free to contact Nazerine and make an appeal.
- Rules are subject to change and modification at any time.
By making an account here and roleplaying, you automatically agree to these rules. Staff here are mature minded individuals that will hear out your side of the story should you break a rule, but our tolerance only goes so far.
If you are you new, below is a few links to help get you started. We hope that you will enjoy your time here at Ascentium! Happy Roleplaying!
