Characters found abusing the law or breaking rules will possibly face the consequences of jail. Depending upon the severity of the crime relates to the time spent in jail. Time spent in jail means that ultimately, the character may not participate in any threads in the outside world that happen to be birthed during their jail sentence.
Meaning, they must not have interaction with the outside world until their time has been spent and they have been released.
In order to get arrested, a player or a staff member may play the role of an officer or someone of rank that has the right to arrest and interact with the character. However, only a staff member reserves the right to kill a character and remove information from the character sheet.
To avoid jail, there are many ways in which a character can present an alternative outcome. After the sentence has been served then an outcome is determined. The outcome may result in further sentence time or worse.
Plea
A character may beg to be let go. Rarely works, but if they are convincing enough, they might just get lucky...
Bribe
A character may bribe the arrestee with items or gold, or anything else they may think of. However, the cost will be deducted from their character sheet. The staff member is allowed to remove attribute points, equipment or anything else from the character's character sheet.
Plead Guilty
A character may turn themselves in and agree with the arrest. They are lead to a prison of the arrestee's choice and given a time limit for which their character must stay there. The sentence time depending upon the offence.
Death
Death may be the result if the character attempts to flee and fails a /roll with the diceroller. They may also find that if they attack the officer and fail to pass an attribute check, they will end up in the grave as well. An attribute check is risky and the character must prove to have superior stats or they will fail. Death may also be the result of the crime. For example, if they are a well known mass murderer, then the officer may initiate the attack without introduction.
Escape
A character may escape if they pass a /roll with the diceroller or of they attack and pass the attribute check.
